Tesla builds sales service company in Hefei

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- U.S. EV manufacturer Tesla has recently set up a new sales service company in Hefei, the capital of Anhui province, according to the corporate data platform Tianyancha.

Founded on Nov. 12, the Hefei-based sales company involves a registered capital of 1 million yuan ($151,870) and is wholly controlled by Tesla Motors HK Limited. Xiaotong Zhu, head of Tesla China, serves as its legal representative and chairman.

Tianyancha's records show that the Hefei company's business scope extends to cover the sale of new energy vehicles (NEVs), used cars, photovoltaic devices, machinery equipment, electronic products, rubber products, distributed AC (alternating current) charging piles, and other goods.

Tesla Motors HK Limited has to-day set up automobile sale service companies in such cities in China as Beijing, Wenzhou, Wuhan, Ningbo, Tianjin, Qingdao, Guangzhou, Zhengzhou, Suzhou, Shenzhen, Dalian, Shanghai and Kunming.

Aside from the expansion of sales network, Tesla is widening its charging deployment in China. On November 17, Tesla’s V3 supercharging station in Wangjing Subdistrict of Beijing officially opened for business. Composed of 21 V3 superchargers, the Wangjing station is the biggest V3 station Tesla has ever deployed in North China.

For the first ten months of 2020, Tesla delivered in China roughly 92,000 locally-produced Model 3s, which was honored the best-selling NEV model, according to the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA).

To satisfy the rising demands, the EV manufacturer needs to increase its charging facilities. According to a local report, Tesla plans to close the year with the launch of nearly 650 supercharging stations, 5,000 superchargers and over 2,000 destination charging piles in the world’s largest auto market.
