Li Auto sees deliveries drop 22% MoM in May

Beijing (Gasgoo)- Chinese new energy vehicle company Li Auto delivered 4,323 Li ONEs in May, up 101.3% year on year but down 22% month on month, the company announced on Wednesday. By the end of May, its year-to-date deliveries in 2021 amounted to 22,441 units. 

As to the second-quarter deliveries, the company is confident that the quarterly deliveries will exceed the top end of its guidance range, between 14,500 and 15,500 vehicles. The combined deliveries of April and May were 9,862 vehicles, so in June it need to deliver at least 4,638 vehicles to achieve the target.

Last week, the startup unveiled the 2021 Li ONE with improvements in powertrain system, driving assistance system, intelligent cockpit, and user experience. The new vehicle features a maximum NEDC range of 1,080 km and a maximum WLTC range of 890 km. And the 2021 Li ONE also features full-stack self-developed NOA system. The new vehicle’s deliveries have already started from June 1.

Yanan Shen, co-founder and president of Li Auto, said that the 2021 Li ONE has received very positive feedback and strong recognition from users and helped the company's total orders in May jump to a record high. Deliveries of the new vehicle are expected to surpass 10,000 units in September this year. And chip shortage across the industry will continue to bring uncertainties, the company added.

In order to meet strong market demands, Li Auto will continue to expand its direct sales and servicing network. By the end of 2021, its direct-sale retail stores will be increased from 83, as of the end of May, to 200.
