Car and City: insurance registrations of China-made VW ID. doubles in July
Beijing (Gasgoo)- Insurance registrations of China-made Volkswagen (VW) ID. vehicles more than doubled in July when compared with June, and the total registration volume of the ID. series surpassed 10,000 vehicles by the end of July, according to data from China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission (CBIRC).
A total of 5,046 locally-made VW ID. vehicles were registered last month, surging 107% versus the previous month while the cumulative registrations of the series amounted to 10,811 vehicles.
By monthly registrations, the ID.4 X outsold the ID.4 CROZZ in July with monthly registrations up 134.9% month over month to 2,025 vehicles. In terms of Jan.-July registrations, the volume of the VW ID.4 CROZZ was 716 units fewer than that of the VW ID.4 X.
Chengdu accounted for 34.9% of the VW ID.4 CROZZ’s July registrations. Out of 610 ID.4 CROZZs registered in the provincial capital of Sichuan Province, 93.6% were for renting. Changchun and Beijing also registered more than 100 ID.4 CROZZs last month.
More than half of the VW ID.4 X’s registrations came from Shanghai in July, where it is produced. And other cities all had registrations less than 100 vehicles.
The ID.6 models contributed one fourth of the ID.’s total monthly registrations. Last month, the market registered 865 ID.6 Xs and 407 ID.6 CROZZs.
Like the ID.4, Shanghai and Beijing were still the two cities on the TOP 5 cities list of VW ID.6 X, and the gap between the registrations in Shanghai and in Beijing was huge.
Deliveries of the ID.6 CROZZ started on July 18, so the volume is not that high.
