Li Auto delivers 7,094 vehicles in September, down 24.8% MoM
Beijing (Gasgoo)- China’s new energy vehicle innovator Li Auto’s monthly deliveries in September saw a decrease over the previous month and failed to realize the 10,000-unit monthly target, as automotive chip shortage continued to plague the automaker, according to a press release.
Last month, Li Auto delivered a total of 7,094 Li ONEs, up 102.5% year on year but down 24.8% month on month. And the company was outsold by several local rivals, including NIO (10,628 vehicles), XPeng (10,412 vehicles) and NETA (7,699 vehicles).
In terms of quarterly deliveries, Li Auto outnumbered NIO (24,439 vehicles), but failed to exceed XPeng (25,666 vehicles). For the third quarter of this year, Li Auto delivered 25,116 vehicles, representing a surge of 190% from a year ago. By the end of September, Li Auto has delivered 55,270 vehicles this year.

Yanan Shen, president of Li Auto, said in the statement that the reason for the month-on-month decrease was the prolonged chip supply shortage. The company is taking multiple measures to ensure the supply and accelerate the delivery. Since the Li ONE hit the market, orders have been increasing.
As of September 30, 2021, Li Auto had 153 retail stores in 85 cities, as well as 223 servicing centers and Li Auto-authorized body and paint shops operating in 165 cities.
