Car and City: Oct. registrations of Wuling Hongguang MINIEV
Shanghai (Gasgoo)- In October 2021, the insurance registrations of the Wuling Hongguang MINIEV, a mini-sized all-electric car model of SAIC-GM-Wuling (SGMW), stood at 47,810 units, surging 125.7% year on year, while also jumping 25.7% month on month, according to the China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission (CBIRC).
It is worth mentioning that the monthly registrations of the popular BEV model for the first time surpassed 40,000 units. Besides, the Hongguang MINIEV was still the hottest-selling NEV model in China by Oct. insurance volume, outnumbering the runner-up Model Y by 34,402 units.
By the end of Oct. 2021, cumulative insurance volume of the MINIEV amounted to 355,523 units, 306,079 units of which were registered this year.
With 1,169 units registered, Zhumadian, a city of Central China's Henan province, was the No.1 city by the Oct. registrations of the Hongguang MINIEV. There were another 7 cities in Henan province on the top 20 cities list by MINIEV’s registrations last month. Of those, Luoyang, Shangqiu, Nanyang, and Zhengzhou occupied the second to fifth places.

Apart from Zhumadian, Luoyang and Shangqiu were the other two cities recording monthly MINIEV registrations topping 1,000 units.
Nanning, the capital of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, dropped to the eighth in October from the No.1 in September.
None of the four metropolises , namely, Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen, entered the top 20 cities list last month.
