Car and City: ET7 accounts for 34.5% of NIO’s registrations in June 2022

In June 2022, NIO's new vehicle registrations stood at 11,950 units, leaping 53.7% from the previous year, while also soaring 84.6% from the previous month, according to the data compiled by Gasgoo Auto Research Institute (GARI).

Regarding June registrations of locally-made new energy passenger vehicles (NEPVs), NIO ranked 11th among all auto brands in China, following its domestic startup rivals XPeng (7th), Li Auto (9th), and HOZON Auto (10th).

There were a total of 49,399 NIO-branded vehicles registered through the first six months of 2022, representing a 20.2% growth compared to the same span of last year.

The ES6 accounted for 39.4% of NIO's vehicle registrations in June. The model recorded a 73.2% leap month-over-month in June registrations, while also achieved a 28.7% increase year-over-year. Among homemade NEPV models in China, the ES6 ranked 31th by June registrations, climbing 2 spots from the month-ago period.

By June registrations of the ES6, Shanghai, Suzhou, and Hangzhou were the top 3 cities. The top 9 cities all had over 200 ES6s registered last month.

In June, the ET7 saw its registrations zoom up 174.8% over a month earlier, serving as the second biggest sales contributor to NIO with a share of 34.5%.

Shanghai registered the most ET7s in June. Besides, Beijing, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen all cracked into the top 10 cities ranking by June ET7 registrations.

Among NIO's four production models for sale, the EC6 was the only one that faced a year-on-year downturn in June registrations, but it still gained a 7.5% increase from the previous month.

In terms of the EC6 registrations in June, Shanghai still ranked highest among cities in China. Suzhou was another one with over 100 EC6s registered last month.

In June, the ES8 registrations showed a rising momentum compared to both the previous year and the previous month. Notably, the month-on-month growth stood as high as 108.3%.

Last month, Chengdu registered the most ES8s, outselling the runner-up (Shanghai) by only 4 units.
