Greater Bay Technology launches self-developed Phoenix Battery
Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On June 6, Guangzhou Greater Bay Technology Co., Ltd. ("Greater Bay Technology"), which specializes in the production, development and sales of super-fast charge lithium batteries, officially launched its in-house developed “Fenghuang (translated as 'Phoenix') Battery”, as a result of the innovations in battery materials and structure.
The company said the Phoenix Battery enables rapid charging for both conventional and high-voltage platform vehicles, while offering comprehensive advantages in terms of safety, lifespan, specific energy, range, and costs.

The Phoenix Battery incorporates three key technological innovations, according to the company's introduction. Firstly, it features an efficient thermal management technology. Leveraging the essence of battery heat exchange, the battery utilizes an original lightweight, ultra-high thermal conductivity, low-dimensional material technology. By maximizing the utilization of the heat exchange area within the battery cells, it constructs a three-dimensional thermal management system, increasing the heat exchange area by 18 times compared to traditional solutions and enhancing temperature control rates by threefold. Even in winter, it achieves rapid preheating from -20°C to 25°C within five minutes, significantly improving vehicle performance and user experience.
Secondly, the new battery employs a bus voltage boost-and-drop switch matrix technology. With an innovative high-integration solid-state switch matrix and intelligent control system, the Phoenix Battery enables voltage adjustment within the range of 300-1000V for the entire vehicle platform. Even for conventional 400V electrical architectures, it can achieve ultra-fast charging at both 800V (XFC) and 400V (for daily operations) without altering the vehicle's existing architecture.
Thirdly, it utilizes a multi-functional integrated magazine-style structural technology. In terms of structural innovation, the Phoenix Battery adopts a compact "magazine" design incorporating superconductive thermal, heating, buffering, and flame-retardant materials. By placing the battery cells within this tightly arranged "magazine," not only is the thermal management significantly improved, but also the battery's resistance to impact and penetration is significantly enhanced. Moreover, the system achieves a high utilization rate of 75% for the volume.

With these three technological innovations, the Phoenix Battery achieves a system-level energy density of 260Wh/kg, enabling a single charge to provide a range of up to 1,000km and ultra-fast charging from 0-80% of capacity in just 6 minutes (at 8C). The battery lifespan can reach 10 years or 800,000 kilometers.
Greater Bay Technology announced that mass production of the Phoenix Battery is scheduled to take place at its energy storage device and system production base in Nansha district, Guangzhou city next year, with the installation onto complete vehicles expected to commence by the end of next year.
