Wuling NEV launches new brand LINXYS dedicated to new energy commercial vehicles

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On Jun. 28, Liuzhou Wuling New Energy Vehicle Co., Ltd. (referred to as “Wuling NEV”), which is affiliate to Wuling Motors Holdings, launched its fire new brand “LINXYS”, with the brand’s first model, dubbed LINXYS Gold Truck (“Huangjin Ka”in Chinese Pinyin), hitting the market at the same time.

The LINXYS Gold Pickup comes in two trim levels, the Shidai (meanding “Era”) Edition and the Xianfeng (“Pioneer”) Edition, with official prices set at 89,800 yuan and 93,800 yuan, respectively. It is available in two body colors, Brilliant Gold and Clear Sky Silver.

At the launch ceremony, Yuan Zhijun, President of Guangxi Auto, Chairman of the Board at Wuling Motors Holdings, and Chairman of Wuling New Energy, stated that Wuling NEV will focus on both commercial and passenger vehicle segments, catering to both domestic and overseas markets. They will meticulously study both pure electric and hybrid technologies, while establishing a dual financial chain of self-sufficiency and market financing.

Wuling NEV aims to achieve a sales target of 1 million vehicles by 2030 (500,000 in the domestic market and 500,000 in overseas markets), said Mr. Yuan.

LINXYS will concentrate on the new energy commercial vehicle market and gradually introduce hybrid and pure electric models. In the future, it plans to offer a comprehensive range of micro, medium, and large-sized vehicles, including micro and small trucks, as well as point-to-point logistics vehicles, creating a full matrix of products.

Based on a profound understanding of the pain points associated with traditional fuel and electric vehicles, LINXYS has come up with a groundbreaking solution: the "hybrid small truck", said the automaker.

The LINXYS Gold Truck incorporates the "Lingqing" super linear hybrid system, pioneering the application of extended-range technology in the mini truck segment and becoming the industry's first hybrid small-sized truck capable of both refueling and recharging, presenting a completely new form of power.

With a maximum torque of 320 N∙m and a maximum power output of 163hp, it delivers fast acceleration and powerful climbing ability, with a gradient capability of up to 27% even when fully loaded.

With the adoption of the Atkinson cycle and a dedicated extended-range system, the new model achieves a high thermal efficiency of 40.01% and a 40% improvement in fuel economy. Its comprehensive fuel consumption under standard conditions is only 3.6 liters per 100 kilometers, according to the carmaker’s introduction.
