This collaboration will enable SAIC-GM vehicles to access NIO's extensive network of charging stations, which are conveniently located in areas with high traffic such as expressways, commercial districts, office parks, residential areas, tourist attractions, and hotels. Owners of new energy vehicles under SAIC-GM's Cadillac and Buick brands will soon be able to locate NIO charging stations, view their status and pricing, and manage payments directly through their brand-specific mobile apps, thereby enhancing the charging experience with more accessible and efficient services.

Up until now, NIO has established a network of 3,767 charging stations with 21,912 charging piles across China, making it the automobile brand with the most extensive number of charging facilities nationwide. NIO has also built 364 supercharging stations with 1,422 charging piles on expressways, leading Chinese automakers by the volume of charging infrastructures in expressway rest areas.

NIO's charging facilities have been open to all new energy vehicles since their inception, with more than 80% of the electricity used by non-NIO vehicle brands.

SAIC-GM has been expanding cooperation with partners in charging to meet the diverse needs of new energy vehicle owners. This includes collaborations with leading charging operators and automotive manufacturers to provide a comprehensive, high-quality charging network across various scenarios including airports, shopping centers, tourist spots, and service areas on expressways.

Additionally, GM's Ultium Airport Charging Service Center is now operational at seven domestic airports, including Shanghai Hongqiao Airport, Beijing Daxing Airport, Shanghai Pudong Airport, Hangzhou Xiaoshan Airport, Guangzhou Baiyun Airport, Shenzhen Bao'an Airport, and Chengdu Tianfu Airport. As of now, the nationwide charging terminal cooperation has exceeded 600,000 points, with nearly 100% coverage in prefecture-level cities across the country. Following its initial cooperation with Tesla China last year, SAIC-GM has now expanded its partnership to include NIO's public charging stations.
