Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On April 23, Chinese electric heavy-duty truck startup Windrose Technology held a launch conference, on which the company unveiled its first battery-electric heavy-duty truck, first hydrogen-powered heavy-duty truck, and the new-generation chassis-by-wire system.

Established in March 2022, Windrose Technology is a provider dedicated to offering comprehensive solutions for new energy heavy-duty trucks. With subsidiaries in Shanghai and Hefei, it currently employs over 130 staff members. After two years of R&D efforts, the company’s products have undergone calibration under high temperatures, extreme cold, and high altitudes, meeting the preliminary conditions for mass production.

At the conference, Han Wen, the founder of Windrose Technology, officially launched the brand and logo for the first time, and showcased the key specifications and details of the new products.

The first battery-electric and hydrogen-powered models are both six-by-four (referring to a vehicle with three axles, with a drivetrain delivering power to wheels at the ends of two of them) in drive form, featuring a design with aerodynamic efficiency in mind.

The battery-electric model has a drag coefficient of just 0.2755 and is equipped with a 729 kWh battery. Under the CHTC-TT conditions, its full-load range reaches 670km. It employs an 800V high-voltage platform for megawatt-level charging. With a 35-minute charge, the vehicle can cover 400km when fully loaded. It comes with standard national-standard charging interfaces and can be expanded to include CCS (Combined Charging System) and CMS (Charging Management System) interfaces. The vehicle extensively incorporates lightweight design, with a curb weight of 10,750kg. It can accommodate up to four hairpin winding liquid-cooled permanent magnet synchronous motors, delivering a continuous power output of up to 680kW and a maximum driving power of 1,040kW. The MCU (MicroController Unit) adopts SiC (Silicon Carbide) modules, achieving an efficiency of over 99.7%. Under the full load conditions, the acceleration from 0 to 100km/h can be done in just 22 seconds, and the speed can peak at 120km/h.

The chassis features a double-wishbone independent front suspension with 10 airbag shock absorbers. The vehicle incorporate electric sliding door design, ensuring easier entry and exit.

The Internet of Vehicles system carries such features as voice control, remote control, digital key, fault diagnosis and warning, maintenance reminders, SOS, fleet management, OTA (over-the-air updates), and more.

The cabin offers a spacious interior of 8.2m³, featuring dual-zone air conditioning system and an oversized panoramic sunroof. Optional amenities include a bar, water dispenser, and sink. The rear sleeper berth is semi-reclining and integrates with the rear passenger seat. The vehicle interior is equipped with in-car TV, dynamic ambient lighting, and in-car fragrance systems.

The hydrogen-powered model rides on a platform shared with battery-electric vehicle models. It utilizes a dual-stack single-system configuration for the voltaic pile, with a total effective power output of up to 300kW. The model is equipped with three electric motors, which achieve a maximum power output of 780kW. It employs The Type IV hydrogen cylinder with a hydrogen storage capacity of 94kg, providing a range of 1,000km.

The new-generation chassis-by-system remains  is designed to serve both hydorgen-powered and battery electric vehicles, featuring a EPS (Electric Power Steering) gear, a 48V low-voltage electrical platform, and a EMB (electromechanical braking) system. It supports level 5 autonomous driving functions.
