BYD launches Song PRO PHEV model at Experience E in Chile

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- From November 7 to November 10, the third Experiencia E, an international exhibition for sustainable mobility, took place in Chile. Chinese automaker BYD took the opportunity to debut its Song PRO model at the event.

Four key models were on display at the BYD booth: the BYD Song PLUS DM-i, the newly launched BYD Song PRO, the BYD Yuan UP, and the BYD SHARK. Attendees also had the chance to test drive these vehicles on a dedicated racetrack at the event.

Cristián Garcés, Brand Manager of BYD's Chilean distributor ASTARA Group, remarked: "At the Experiencia E, we showcased both battery electric and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (BEVs and PHEVs), allowing customers to experience BYD's cutting-edge technology and impressive range. Additionally, we introduced the new DM-i model, the BYD Song PRO, and gave the BYD SHARK its first public appearance in Chile."

The newly launched BYD Song PRO features BYD's advanced DM-i super hybrid system. The top-spec variant offers a battery-powered range of 100 km (NEDC) and a combined range of up to 1,011 km (WLTC), with a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of just 7.9 seconds. Besides, the model comes equipped with the DiPilot advanced driver assistance system.

The Song PRO is available in three color options: Snow White, Time Gray, and Far Mountain Green. On the tech front, it supports Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and NFC technology, along with seamless connectivity through the BYD App. 

Another highlight for BYD at the Experiencia E was the exclusive Chilean debut of the BYD SHARK pickup truck, which made its global premiere in Mexico this May. Garcés added, "We plan to officially launch the BYD SHARK in the first quarter of 2025. We hope this debut brings excitement to all attendees, and we are confident it will make a significant impact when it hits the market next year."

Building on the DMO (Dual-Mode Off-Road) platform, the BYD SHARK is a plug-in hybrid electric pickup truck boasting a combined range of 840 km (NEDC) and a battery-powered range of 100 km. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.7 seconds.
