China Light Vehicel Retail Sales - Jul 2007

Typically July and August is a sluggish season for auto sales and there is no exception in this year. More than a half of automakers' sales declined in July, according to the statistics released by China Association of Automobile Manufacturers.

New models, such as FAWVW Magotan, FAW Toyota Corolla and Shanghai VW Skoda Octavia, however, stimulated the market's nerves and created substantial sales increases. These new models ranked the top place in different segments.

However, the overall sales are not as good as expected; Dongfeng Nissan and domestic automaker Chery suffered the most.
