For the compact car market in 2015, New Lavida from SAIC VW won the sales champion with yearly sales of totally 379,069 units, which represented a 3.3% increase compared with last year. To be noted, New Lavida is also the best-selling sedan in 2015.
Jan. 19 , 2016Dongfeng Motor Co., Ltd. (herein after referred as Dongfeng Motor) will meet a new President, announced the carmaker yesterday. During the 17th session of Dongfeng Motor’s Fourth Board of Directors, a resolution to elect Ouyang Jie as the new President, in succession to Zhu Fushou, has been passed by the board members. Zhu will not retain his position as President at the expiration of his term of office.

While sales growth is not at the same level as 2014, it was still very high. While in 2014 sales growth rates of 40% to 50% were much easier to reach, last year’s automotive sales growth was a lot more subdued. According to statistics from Gasgoo.com (Chinese), minivan sales grew 11.2% from 1.72 million sales completed over the first 11 months of 2014 to 1.91 million sales completed over the first 11 months of 2015. Minivan sales accounted for 10.7% of all automobile sales made across the country in 2015, up 0.3 percentage points from the previous year.
