Gasgoo.com (Shanghai August 1) - After finally gaining official approval from the National Development and Reform Commission last month, the new joint venture between Changan and PSA may gain its operating license as early as September, the Beijing News reported today. The information comes from Eric Apode, head of the Changan PSA project, who added that the JV will begin domestically producing vehicles in 2013.

Mr. Sun will be taking the role of deputy manager of PSA's Asia operations, a position only behind CEO Grgoire Olivier and PSA's executive board. Mr. Sun's new appointment is one of the highest positions for a Chinese executive to attain at a foreign automobile company.
