Nissan shows first China-exclusive BEV at China International Import Expo
Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Nissan Motor orchestrated a comprehensive exhibit illustrating the company’s development and achievements during the 40 years in China at the 2021 China International Import Expo (CIIE).
As one of the foreign auto brands that hold the longest relationship in the Chinese market, Nissan Motor is devoted to offering the country its most advanced technologies and products. Themed “Nissan Intelligent Mobility”, the auto giant showcased its latest achievements in the electrification, power innovation, and technical vehicle models aspects.
The SYLPHY Zero Emission was on display at CIIE as the company’s first China-made and China-exclusive pure-electric model. The company also showed its first model that features Nissan’s e-POWER technologies in China and a FE racecar in the FIA Formula E Championship.
Unlike the typical hybrid technologies, the Nissan e-POWER driven fossil-fueled engine is not used to drive the vehicle but to generate electricity. The technology can provide the same driving experience as battery-electric vehicles while eliminating users’ anxiety in range and charging.
The automaker said, by 2025, it planned to bring in nine electric models with six powered by the e-POWER technology.
In addition, the first SUV model based on the company’s CMF-CD platform, the new X-Trial, was also on display at the CIIE. Aside from the upgraded VC-Turbo engine, the new X-Trial features an enhanced ProPILOT intelligent driving system and the latest Nissan Connect 2.0 intelligent connectivity function.
Under the Nissan NEXT transformation guideline, Nissan will further accelerate its “Nissan Intelligent Mobility” layout in China.
