On November 5, 2025, Porsche officially opened its new China R&D Center in Shanghai's Hongqiao business district, marking a major milestone in its "In China, for China" strategy, according to a post on the WeChat account of Porsche Digital China.
The new center integrates R&D, procurement, and quality functions with independent decision-making authority. By leveraging China's fast-moving innovation ecosystem, Porsche aims to significantly shorten product development cycles—from several years to just a few months—and enhance responsiveness to the Chinese market, especially in the fields of electrification, intelligence, and digital experiences.
WeRide, Bosch achieve SOP for one-piece end-to-end ADAS solution
On November. 5, autonomous driving company WeRide announced that its one-piece end-to-end ADAS solution, jointly developed with Bosch, has reached Start of Production (SOP) within just seven months. Built on WeRide's WePilot 3.0 platform, the system features end-to-end large-model perception and decision-making capabilities, multimodal sensor fusion, and scalable computing architecture.
The solution enables automakers to deploy advanced assisted-driving features more efficiently while adapting to complex traffic scenarios.
Schaeffler to sell China-based turbocharger business to Xiling
On Nov. 4, Schaeffler Group signed an agreement to sell its China-based turbocharger business, Vitesco Automotive (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., to Chengdu Xiling Power Science & Technology. The divestment is part of Schaeffler's business restructuring strategy.
The business employs about 50 staff and generated roughly €100 million in sales in 2024, though performance has been declining. The transaction, subject to regulatory approval, is expected to be completed in the first half of 2026, with both parties working to ensure supply continuity during the transition.
