The Auto Distribution System in Spain

The distribution system in Spain is dominated by a few large distributors. There are fewer than 10 major players for the entire country. The market has historically consisted of thousands of very small shops, and that has remained consistent, with key distributors housing the inventory that the little shops are not equipped to carry. In recent developments, large French auto parts stores Norauto and Feu Vert have developed more than 100 stores between them in the Spanish market. The stores primarily carry spare and repair parts, with only modest
accessory sections. A number of the key distributors noted that they serviced between 700 and 1,000 customers with annual sales of 40,000 to 50,000 Euros considered a larger customer.
