Chinese "Hummer" to be launched next year

Shanghai. August 30 (Gasgoo.com) – The non-military version of Dongfeng Hanma, also called Dongfeng Mengshi will be launched next year, Dongfeng Motors announced recently.

Dongfeng Hanma is designed based on Hummer, also known as Humvee. The price of Dongfeng Hanma is around 700,000 yuan ($93,000), about half of the American-made Hummer.

"Compared with Hummer, Dongfeng Hanma is expected to be better in load capacity, mobility and efficiency," according to a Dongfeng Motors source.

Dongfeng Hanma is powered by V8 engine and four gear automatic transmission. The maximum speed could reach 135 kilometers per hour.

"Dongfeng Motors is licensed to produce this model and by next year it will be officially launched in the market," the unnamed source said.
