Yong Jun said the company had taken note of the accident and immediately moved to verify the facts. Based on feedback from traffic police and backend data analysis, the vehicle was under manual control throughout the incident, and a vehicle issue has been ruled out as the cause.
He added that the injured party suffered minor injuries, and the company is fully assisting the customer with insurance assessment and related matters. Road safety is no small matter — every safe journey is a promise to our families. With the Lunar New Year approaching, please travel safely. Also, please refrain from spreading or believing rumors and help maintain a healthy online environment. Thank you.
According to public information, a serious traffic accident occurred on the evening of January 6 near Lengtangcun Station on Nanning's Metro Line 4 along Wuxiang Avenue. A Weibo post reposted by Yong Jun further described the core sequence: an AVATR electric vehicle suddenly lost control, burst out from behind, and slammed into multiple vehicles ahead at speeds over 100 km/h. The van ahead of the camera car was struck on its left rear, thrown into the air, and its front veered into the right-hand lane. The AVATR then hit several more vehicles in succession, triggering a pileup. Photos from the scene show multiple passenger cars with severe damage, while the AVATR ended up on its side on the roadway.
After video of the crash circulated online, the topic quickly drew widespread attention. Notably, some online posts at the time claimed the AVATR driver had not been drinking and said the collision was caused by a driver-assistance system that went out of control.
