Gasgoo Munich- BYD announced late on April 28 that rising global memory hardware costs have forced a price adjustment. To safeguard product quality and user experience, the cost of the "God's Eye B LiDAR Edition" driver-assist option will rise from 9,900 yuan to 12,000 yuan for select models under its Dynasty, Ocean, and Fang Cheng Bao brands. The automaker also revealed fresh operational metrics for its smart driving system. As of the end of March, its fleet of vehicles equipped with driver-assist features had surpassed 2.85 million units, generating over 180 million kilometers of real-world road data daily via the "God's Eye" system. The company pledged to continuously evolve the technology, aiming to deliver a driving experience that becomes smoother and safer the more it is used.
BYD's "God's Eye" system utilizes a three-tier hardware architecture. The C configuration features five millimeter-wave radars and 12 cameras, primarily enabling highway navigation assist. The B tier adds a LiDAR unit to the C setup, expanding capabilities to city navigation. The top-tier A variant is equipped with three LiDARs, supporting full-scenario navigation and advanced parking. Leveraging an end-to-end large model architecture and massive real-world driving data, the system boasts AEB capabilities that can brake for stationary vehicles at 130 km/h during the day and 135 km/h inside tunnels. It also demonstrates predictive planning in complex urban scenarios like sudden pedestrian intrusions and narrow alley navigation.
