Shanghai November 10 (Gasgoo.com) During the period January to October 2010, China's auto output and sales totaled 14.62 million units and 14.68 million units respectively, surpassing 2009 levels. Meanwhile, the country's sedan inventories dropped slightly, reaching more than 200,000 units, Guangzhou Daily reported Wednesday, citing data from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM).
Influenced by the seven-day National holiday, most models saw slower growth in both production and sales compared with September.
China's passenger-car sales in October dipped 0.68% month on month and rose 27.12% year on year to 1.20 million units, the fastest pace in six months as government incentives for fuel-efficient cars boosted buying in the world's largest auto market.
The country's passenger-car output dropped 2.61% last month from September and jumped 23.48% from a year earlier to nearly 1.20 million units.
In terms of sales growth, the best October performance came from Sedans, followed by SUV and vans. Small-volume cars now become more and more popular in the Chinese market.
