Lifan starts mass-producing its all-electric cars

Shanghai, April 26 (Gasgoo.com) The ongoing Beijing Auto Show 2010 saw Chongqing Lifan Automobile Co. Ltd. launching main vehicle models, including the SUV, 620CVT, 2010 EV 520 and 620, as well as its micro-car Fengshun, of which the Lifan 620 new-energy electric cars will be mass produced by the end of 2010.

The company said the Lifan 620 new-energy electric car can travel up to 160 Km on a single charge and charge to 80% within 15-30 minutes. Moreover, the car's maximum speed is above 120 Km/h and has a acceleration time from 0-50 Km/h of 6 seconds.

Lifan Group is considering bringing in the carbon fiber technology to make lightweight all-electric cars. At present, it is actively starting to enter the taxi markets in Chongqing, southwest China and Shanghai for a model run, and the mass production is expected to start by the end of this year.
