Another intelligent-driving company established, involving two major companies

On Jan. 4, 2026, Gasgoo learned via Qichacha that a new intelligent-driving company named Beijing Zhiyu Technology Co., Ltd. has been established in Beijing. The firm has registered capital of 3 million yuan and is jointly funded by BAIC Research Institute and Horizon Robotics, a provider of intelligent-driving computing solutions. BAIC holds 65%, with Horizon owning 35%.

Gasgoo promptly sought comment from Horizon Robotics on the new company's strategic positioning and detailed business plan, but had not received a response by press time.

Notably, at the Horizon Robotics Technology Ecosystem Conference on Dec. 9, 2025, Feng Shuo — assistant to the director of BAIC Research Institute and head of its Intelligent Connectivity Center — announced that the two sides will establish a deeply integrated joint R&D mechanism.

Feng said at the time that Horizon Robotics brings powerful compute, algorithms and data closed-loop training capabilities — the industry's "mainline technology platform." BAIC, meanwhile, will build differentiated strengths on the "branch line" around its product matrix and user scenarios. The next key step is to develop an all-scenario city NOA (navigate on autopilot) system based on a dual Horizon Journey 6M chip solution, aligned with the hardware architecture and software stack of BAIC's "Yuanjing AI Central Brain." The technology will be installed first on new models under BAIC's own brands.

On the technical front, the core of the collaboration is Horizon's HSD (Horizon SuperDrive) urban assisted driving system. Using a single-stage end-to-end architecture with reinforcement learning, it outputs control commands directly from perception signals — designed to cut latency while improving defensive driving and control smoothness. The dual Journey 6M chips provide 256 TOPS of compute, with hardware–software co-design optimizing performance and power consumption. The HSD system has already completed road tests in cities including Beijing and Shanghai, and is slated to enter large-scale mass production by the end of 2025.

BAIC Group officially unveiled its holistic intelligent technology framework, "Yuanjing Intelligent," in Oct. 2025, centered on "full-domain fusion" — especially cockpit–driving integration. Its deep tie-up with Horizon Robotics, and the creation of this specialist joint company, indicate BAIC is leaning on open collaboration to accelerate the rollout and application of its intelligent technology platform.
