Powered by BYD’s fifth-generation DM technology, the sedan boasts a maximum NEDC combined range of 1,680 km — a figure that sets a new range record for plug-in hybrids in the Mexican market.
This latest release is an upgrade to the BYD KING already on sale in Mexico. Its predecessor—known as the Destroyer 05 in China—has been a top-selling plug-in hybrid since its debut in April 2024. On the tech front, the Seal 05 DM-i features a 15.6-inch adaptive rotating infotainment screen and supports Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Google Gemini voice assistance.
Jorge Vallejo, director of passenger vehicle sales at BYD Mexico, called the launch a significant step in the company’s deepening commitment to the Mexican market. He added that BYD will continue to leverage technological innovation to deliver competitive new energy products and solutions to the region.
