Gasgoo Munich- BYD officially pulled the wraps off two high-end flagships for its Ocean Series today: the Seal 08 sedan and the Sea Lion 08 SUV. Both models belong to the new Ocean 8 Series, marking the brand's entry into the large flagship segment.

Official teasers suggest the Seal 08 will be a mid-to-large coupe sedan, while the Sea Lion 08 takes shape as a more rugged mid-to-large SUV. Both draw their DNA from the Ocean S concept, unveiled by the Ocean Series at the 2025 Shanghai Auto Show, and feature the next-generation "Ocean Aesthetics" design language.
The Ocean Series revealed the names of this dual flagship lineup during its Ocean Day user gala in Shenzhen on December 15, 2025, celebrating the network's fourth anniversary. The Seal 08 and Sea Lion 08 are set to feature BYD's latest battery technology, advanced driver-assistance systems, and intelligent cockpits—designed to meet the full spectrum of high-end mobility demands.
Both models are slated to make their public debut in the first quarter of 2026.
Since its launch in November 2021, the Ocean Series has amassed 6 million cumulative sales over four years. To date, multiple models—including the Song PLUS, Seagull, Dolphin, and Seal—have each surpassed the 1-million-unit sales mark individually.
