According to official data from BYD, cumulative sales in the first half of 2026 reached 1.81 million units. Of these, overseas sales of passenger vehicles and pickups totaled 789,367 units, surging 68% year-on-year.

As the model representing the 17 millionth milestone, the Seal 08 launched on July 2 with a price range of 196,900 to 239,900 yuan. It features BYD's recently released second-generation Blade Battery and flash charging technology—which the company claims can deliver a charge in five minutes and a full charge in nine. The pure electric version boasts a maximum CLTC range of 905 kilometers. The Seal 08 comes standard with the "God's Eye" advanced intelligent driving assistance system (LiDAR version), promising a "dual safety fallback" for city navigation and intelligent parking.

BYD stated it will continue to advance R&D in electrification and intelligent technologies, with plans to establish 20,000 flash charging stations nationwide by the end of 2026.
