Gasgoo Munich- Cadillac officially launched the XT5 PHEV on September 7. The lineup introduces two models with a suggested retail price between 310,000 and 350,000 yuan, though a fixed all-cash price brings the range down to 279,900 to 299,900 yuan.

Visually, the XT5 PHEV carries over the internal combustion model’s design language, featuring a shield-shaped illuminated mesh grille and a glowing badge paired with split headlights. The front bumper has been redesigned to integrate a new active air intake grille.

Measuring 4,888 mm long, 1,957 mm wide, and 1,688 mm tall with a 2,863 mm wheelbase, the PHEV sits 6 mm lower than its gasoline counterpart. The side profile retains traditional door handles and features new 21-inch wheels.

At the rear, the bumper design is more understated, and the exhaust layout has been hidden. New color options include a matte Grand Canyon Orange and Phantom Sand White.

Inside, the layout mirrors the standard model, now offering Yellowstone Dawn and Screen Flow interior themes. The cockpit centers on a 33-inch 9K curved display linked to an AKG studio-grade audio system. Powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8775P chip, the infotainment system integrates ByteDance’s Doubao AI model, significantly enhancing voice interaction with natural language understanding and support for complex commands.

For comfort, seats are upholstered in Fine Nappa semi-aniline leather, with heating available for both front and rear rows. The center console retains physical buttons and knobs, complemented by dual 50-watt wireless fast chargers, 66-watt wired charging, and an onboard hot and cold cooler box.

Under the hood, the XT5 PHEV utilizes Cadillac’s in-house developed super plug-in hybrid system. Built on a 5C-native PHEV architecture, it employs a P1+P3+P4 three-motor layout paired with a two-speed DHT dedicated transmission, with all-wheel drive standard across the lineup.

The 1.5-liter turbo PHEV system delivers a combined output of 385 kW and peak torque of 740 Nm, enabling a 0-100 km/h sprint in 4.8 seconds — or 5.4 seconds even with a depleted battery. Range-wise, the CLTC pure electric range hits 215 km, while the combined range reaches 1,360 km on a full tank and charge.

On the intelligent driving front, the XT5 PHEV debuts the mass-produced Momenta R7 world model ADAS system, featuring standard LiDAR hardware that supports navigation assistance on highways and in urban areas. The system handles complex scenarios like city traffic, construction zones, and vehicles cutting in, capable of navigating narrow passages with precision even when clearance is just 20 cm on one side.

Parking capabilities include autonomous entry into standard spots and extremely narrow mechanical parking spaces, along with a trail reversing function of up to 150 meters.
