Gasgoo (Shanghai, October 25)— Sales of Infiniti were more than 3,700 units, with a slight yearly rise of 1%, in China in September. And that in the first three quarters have been more than 29 thousand units, increasing by 2% year on year, which has been lower than that of 7% in the global market.

It may take the company great effort to complete its target volume of 50 thousand units this year. Reportedly, Dongfeng Infiniti may launch a new compact SUV mode, SUV QX30, aiming to take up larger market shares in China.

With market shares of more than 75%, luxury vehicles of German brands  has made challenge facing Infiniti greater by lowering price. Moreover, product recall has also led to challenges for the company, as experts believe.

To respond to this situation, the company has made adjustment on marketing strategy from the second quarter in 2016, such as granting subsidizes for dealers and developing products catering to Chinese customers.

Sales in China has taken up 20% of the global market. However, it has only taken up about 2.2% of the luxury vehicle market in China. To take up larger market shares, the company should make adjustment on product positioning, as experts pointed out.
