Gasgoo Munich- On March 12, Avatr Technology President Chen Zhuo announced that alongside the new Avatr 12, the Avatr 06T will also be among the first to feature Huawei's 896-line LiDAR — the highest-spec unit in global mass production.

The unit employs Huawei's proprietary dual-optical-path architecture, integrating receivers with varying focal lengths to fuse wide-angle and telephoto imaging. Vertical resolution has quadrupled compared to previous generations, pushing perception capabilities from traditional "point cloud" levels to "image-grade" clarity, according to the company.
On the performance front, the radar can detect obstacles as low as 14 cm from 120 meters away. Detection range for low-reflectivity targets like fallen tires has extended by 190%, while recognition distance for irregular obstacles such as toppled cones improved by 77%. Durability has also been overhauled. The viewing window uses high-transmission tempered glass, boosting hardness by 25% and doubling durability. Official tests indicate the system can withstand severe weather like sandstorms, maintaining stable perception after a 30-hour, 3,000-km endurance run.
Separately, Avatr confirmed the 06T will launch around the May Day holiday. Positioned as a wagon, it will eventually be sold alongside the standard Avatr 06.
Visually, the new model carries over the brand's signature front fascia and full-width taillight design, with the LiDAR unit mounted on the roof.
According to Ministry of Industry and Information Technology filings and official teasers, the car measures 4,940 mm long, 1,960 mm wide, and 1,475 mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2,940 mm.
On the powertrain front, the entire lineup features distributed dual-drive technology. The pure electric rear-wheel-drive variant is equipped with dual motors delivering a peak output of 502 kW; the all-wheel-drive version adds a 210 kW front motor, bringing total system output to 712 kW. It also packs CATL's specialized dual-chemistry batteries. The range-extender model comes standard with a 45.06 kWh Xiaoyao battery, delivering a CLTC pure-electric range of over 330 km, while the pure electric version introduces an 89.33 kWh Shenxing ultra-fast-charging battery, offering a CLTC range exceeding 740 km.
