Gasgoo.com (Shanghai August 12) - According to statistics from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, China exported 73,300 vehicles in July, nbd.com.cn reported today. The figure represents a decrease of 12.73 percent from June, but is 57.7 percent higher than the amount exported in July 2010. Passenger vehicles constituted 44,800 of the month's export volume, while commercial vehicles made up 28,500 units.
Over 454,400 vehicles have been exported since the beginning of the year, more than 57 percent higher than in the first seven months of 2010. Passenger and commercial vehicles accounted for 262,500 exports and 191,900 exports, respectively. Chery was again the strongest exporter, followed by Changan, JAC, Great Wall and Dongfeng. The top five manufacturers accounted for 58.37 percent of all exports.
CAAM Executive Vice Chairman and Secretary General Dong Yang predicted exports to continue to rise in the latter part of the year. "I believe exports in the latter half of the year will be higher than the first half," Mr. Dong Said. He added that Chinese exports were managing to be influenced from recent trends in the global economy.
Chinese automobile imports exports in the first half of the year have been valued at $34.54 billion and $30.69 billion, respectively.
