Gasgoo Munich- Following the Han and Tang, BYD is pushing its high-voltage platforms, smart driving, and body control technology further down into its flagship SUV lineup. The Tang EV, a full-size battery-powered SUV in the Dynasty Network, carries a sticker price between 239,900 and 309,900 CNY. It packs the second-generation Blade Battery, a full-domain 1000V high-voltage architecture, the "God's Eye" driver-assist system, and the DiSus-A smart chassis. Its parts list highlights BYD's strategy of balancing vertical integration with open collaboration.

Power & Charging: Second-Gen Blade Battery Meets 1000V Platform, Internal Supply Chain Handles Core Electrics

The powertrain stays true to BYD's vertically integrated model, with drive motors and batteries sourced from internal suppliers.

FinDreams Power supplies the propulsion system, offering three configurations: a 300 kW rear-wheel drive, a 370 kW RWD, and a dual-motor AWD setup pairing 215 kW and 370 kW units. The AWD variant delivers a combined 585 kW, pushing the zero-to-100 km/h sprint down to 3.9 seconds.

Energy comes from FinDreams Battery's second-generation Blade Battery, integrated with CTB (Cell-to-Body) technology. Available capacities are 105.79 kWh and 130.15 kWh, delivering CLTC ranges of 800 km, 850 km, and 950 km.

On the charging front, the Tang EV's 1000V platform supports up to 10C charging rates. Official data shows a 10-to-70% charge taking as little as 5 minutes, and 10-to-97% in 9 minutes. At launch, BYD's flash charging network spanned 321 cities across China, with expansion ongoing.

Smart Driving: Nvidia Platform + RoboSense Lidar Power "God's Eye" B

The Tang EV comes standard with the "God's Eye 5.0" advanced driver-assistance system. The hardware package—God's Eye B (DiPilot 300) LiDAR edition—features one high-sensitivity lidar from RoboSense, 11 smart-driving cameras (including front multi-vision, surround, side, and rear views), three millimeter-wave radars, and 12 ultrasonic sensors. The computing brain is Nvidia's Orin-X chip, delivering 254 TOPS of processing power.

Functionally, the system relies on end-to-end large models to support both highway navigation assist (HNOA) and city navigation assist (CNOA). It handles ramp entry and exit, sharp turns, construction zone avoidance, unprotected left turns, roundabouts, traffic light recognition, yielding to pedestrians and cyclists, and assertive lane changes. Parking capabilities cover automated, memory, and remote parking, backed by active safety features like AEB and TBC high-speed blowout stability control.

Smart Cockpit: DiLink 6.0 + Multi-Screen Link + Devialet Premium Audio

The cabin runs on BYD's in-house DiLink 6.0 system, integrating mainstream large models like Qianwen and DeepSeek. It features an AI assistant named "Didi Xia," capable of fuzzy semantic interaction and multi-turn dialogue across navigation, vehicle control, music, and video.

On the display front, standard equipment includes a 12.3-inch full-LCD instrument cluster and a 17.3-inch 3K floating central screen. Desay SV supplies the display assemblies for the instrument and passenger screens, while Tianma provides the central screen module. Higher trims and the Dynasty Edition add a 12.3-inch passenger entertainment screen, a 17.3-inch rear ceiling screen from Haiwei Tech, and a 50-inch AR-HUD, creating a multi-screen ecosystem.

For audio, the entire lineup is equipped with a custom Devialet sound system. The setup starts with 20 speakers on the 800 km Honor Edition, steps up to 25 speakers on the 950 km RWD Flagship and 850 km AWD Flagship, and peaks at 27 speakers with 7.1.4 channels on the top-spec Dynasty Edition (including headrest speakers, 2,200 W peak power, and Dolby Atmos support). The cabin also retains BYD's physical smart buttons (magnetic + NFC one-touch phone connection), a fridge, and front-row zero-gravity seats.

Chassis & Safety: DiSus-A and Rear-Wheel Steering Balance Handling and Comfort

Built on the CTB architecture, the Tang EV employs front aluminum double-wishbone suspension and a rear five-link independent setup. Rear-wheel steering is standard across the range, with a maximum steering angle of ±7 degrees (14 degrees total). Combined with a front wheel angle of up to 41.99 degrees, the turning radius tightens to 5.2 meters on mid-to-high trims and about 5.7 meters on the entry Honor Edition, enabling a "crab walk" mode. Suspension-wise, the 800 km Honor Edition gets DiSus-C intelligent damping control, while the 950 km Flagship, 850 km AWD Flagship, and Dynasty Edition upgrade to DiSus-A dual-chamber closed air suspension, with air spring assemblies supplied by Baolong Tech.

Safety features include CTB technology and the TBC high-speed blowout stability system. The braking system utilizes Bosch's IPB intelligent integrated braking system to boost response speed and vehicle stability.

Supply Chain Watch: Core Electrics Stay Internal, Smart Driving Relies on Open Collaboration

The Tang EV continues BYD's recent supply chain model: "core proprietary technology + collaborative development of key hardware."

Core components like batteries, motors, and chassis control remain the domain of BYD affiliates like FinDreams Battery and FinDreams Power, ensuring high vertical integration in the powertrain. For smart driving, however, BYD taps established external partners: Nvidia supplies the computing platform, RoboSense provides the lidar, and Bosch delivers the IPB braking system, creating synergy across perception, computing, and chassis control.

Overall, the Tang EV leverages BYD's internal strengths in electrification while incorporating key external smart-tech suppliers. This "internal R&D plus open cooperation" structure is becoming the norm. As the 1000V platform, second-gen Blade Battery, and "God's Eye" system roll out to more models, BYD's supply chain strategy is shifting from pure electrification to a smarter, more collaborative ecosystem.
