Chrysler, Fiat to have single management

Gasgoo From The Detroit News

The Detroit News (Zurich) - Sergio Marchionne says Chrysler Group LLC and Fiat SpA will have a single management team "pretty quickly."

Marchionne made the comment to reporters following a speech at the Swiss-American Chamber of Commerce. Such a move has been expected for some time. When asked if a formal announcement would come with the two companies' quarterly earnings announcement on July 26, Marchionne — who is CEO of both Chrysler and Fiat — declined to comment.

Fiat has already consolidated Chrysler's financial results. It took control of the Auburn Hills automaker after it emerged from bankruptcy in June 2009. Fiat now owns 52 percent of Chrysler, giving it controlling interest in the company. But Marchionne is eager to expand that even more.
