A new policy put out Friday by China's Traffic Control Bureau states that all domestic sedans in Beijing will be free of a second inspection with the exception of mini-typed passenger service vehicles and SUVs, the bureau released.
The new policy, part of a package of nine measures (five take effect Friday) to improve traffic flow in the city, is believed to save time for new buyers.
They won't have to go between inspection stations as well as save a fee of 200 yuan ($30) for the services.
Previously, some imported motors and some homemade saloon cars in Beijing have avoided the inspection.
