In spring 2026, Harmony lntelligent Mobility Alliance (HIMA) will formally enter the MPV market — its first MPV, the LUXEED V9, has cleared Ministry of Industry and Information Technology filing, positioned as a "500,000‑yuan, mid-to-large luxury new energy MPV."
It not only rounds out the LUXEED brand's lineup, but also signals Huawei's smart-car ecosystem stretching from sedans and SUVs into a new battleground: high-end multipurpose vehicles.
The first ace of the "pure HIMA" era
The LUXEED V9 is the brand's first strategic model in its "2.0 phase," born from a fundamental reset in the Chery–Huawei collaboration.
In August 2025, at a joint autumn launch for LUXEED and AITO, Chery Chairman Yin Tongyue made it clear: "LUXEED is our absolute top strategic priority — with no reservations."
He added that Chery and Huawei have signed the LUXEED 2.0 strategic agreement, under which Huawei will fully lead the brand — ushering in a "pure HarmonyOS" era. Chery will tilt all resources toward LUXEED to support its independent operations and development.

By stepping back and letting Huawei take the helm, Chery's deep tie-up has, without doubt, cleared internal hurdles for the V9's development and launch.
In 2025, LUXEED sold 90,493 vehicles. December deliveries topped 10,000 — and held above that mark for three straight months — laying the scale and brand foundation to move further upmarket.
At HarmonyOS Intelligent Mobility's annual live-stream roundtable, Yin was blunt: "LUXEED won't hold back next year!"
He outlined the 2026 plan: launch the flagship V9 MPV in spring, aiming to reset segment standards with high tech and design; then follow in autumn and winter with a sports car–grade SUV that pushes performance and intelligence to a new height.
The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has now released the 403rd batch of its Road Motor Vehicle Production Enterprises and Products announcement, exposing the V9's filing. The model is positioned as a "500,000‑yuan, mid-to-large luxury new energy MPV," slated for a spring 2026 debut and set to go head-to-head with Li Auto's MEGA, VOYAH Dreamer and other popular entries.
Yu Chengdong, Huawei's executive director and chairman of its Terminal BG, teased the V9 on Weibo, touting its "commanding presence, expansive space, strong safety and long range," and boldly declaring: "MPVs will be different from here on." The remarks quickly drew industry attention.
Zhao Changjiang, a former DENZA executive, shared the post, noting: "The industry needs products that raise the ceiling of imagination." He then posed a more forward-looking question: "Amid today's technology explosion, what should the ultimate form of a top-tier MPV be?" Zhao's Weibo IP location showed Anhui, and some commenters claimed he had "joined LUXEED" or "announced a new job." He did not respond.
When asked in the comments how he rates the V9, Zhao replied: "Conservatively, it will have no rivals within three years."
Defining the "Huawei standard" for 500,000‑yuan MPVs
The V9 arrives as China's high-end new-energy MPV segment settles into shape, even as competition heats up. A clear 500,000‑yuan price signal puts it directly against Li Auto's MEGA, VOYAH Dreamer and other models with established recognition.
Filing data show a sizeable footprint: length, width and height of 5,359 x 2,009 x 1,859/1,879 mm, with a 3,250 mm wheelbase and a seven-seat layout. At the rear, a full-width light bar pairs with a roof spoiler and lower chrome trim, creating a layered visual effect.

Under the hood, the V9 uses a range-extended hybrid setup: a 1.5T engine with dual motors front and rear. The engine's maximum output is 105 kW; motor output remains undisclosed. It will pair with both LFP and NMC battery packs, supplied by CATL.
Few variables will draw more attention in the 2026 premium market than the LUXEED V9. Beyond sales ambitions, it carries HarmonyOS Intelligent Mobility's bid to define a new category and set a fresh template.
Strategically, the V9's mission is clear for HarmonyOS Intelligent Mobility: first, complete the ecosystem by covering sedans, SUVs and MPVs at the high end, addressing incremental demand from multi-child families and premium business travel; second, prove tech scalability by deeply integrating Huawei's strengths in smart cabins, range-extender systems and intelligent driving into a larger, more complex MPV context; third, elevate brand positioning — using a high-margin MPV to reinforce LUXEED, and the broader HarmonyOS Intelligent Mobility ecosystem, as tech‑luxury players in the premium tier.
Challenges remain. In an MPV market shaped by early benchmarks from Li Auto, XPENG and others, the V9 must truly deliver on its promise to be "different" — not just more range and more tech, but transformative experiences for families and business users.
Another test is resource balance: avoiding internal competition with sibling models such as the AITO M9 will demand tight coordination between Huawei and Chery.
With the spring launch nearing, final pricing and detailed specifications will determine whether this "pure HarmonyOS" MPV can unlock new growth — and reshape China's premium new-energy landscape.
