Gasgoo Munich- On May 27, 2026, the Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance officially unveiled the next-generation AITO M9. Featuring 140 technical innovations and over 40 industry firsts, the new model marks a significant upgrade in intelligent driving, powertrains, cockpits, and chassis. By launch day, cumulative bookings had topped 70,000 units, with firm orders surpassing 11,000 within the first hour.
The new AITO M9 comes in both extended-range (EREV) and pure electric variants, with a choice of spacious five- or six-seat layouts. The defining shift in this generation is the concentrated deployment of Huawei's full-stack technology—from electric drive and intelligent driving to the cockpit and chassis, core systems are now led by Huawei.
Power and Charging: Huawei Smart Engine Full 800V High-Voltage Dual Silicon Carbide Platform
The new AITO M9 debuts Huawei's Smart Engine full 800V high-voltage dual silicon carbide power platform across the lineup. The EREV version carries a 1.5T range extender produced by Chongqing Xiaokang Power, while the pure electric version features a front-and-rear dual-motor layout. The Ultimate Prestige long-wheelbase edition upgrades to a three-motor all-wheel-drive system, delivering a combined output of 903 horsepower and an official 0-100 km/h time of 3.99 seconds.
Regarding batteries, the pure electric version is equipped with a 120 kWh CATL Qilin battery, offering a CLTC range of 750 kilometers. The EREV version offers 60 kWh and 75 kWh battery packs, with a maximum CLTC combined range of 1,405 km. The entire lineup supports 800V high-voltage fast charging, with the EREV capable of charging from 20% to 80% in 15 minutes. CATL serves as the exclusive battery supplier for the AITO M9.

Intelligent Driving: Six-LiDAR Matrix and Qiankun ADS 5.0
Intelligent driving represents a major upgrade in this generation. All models come standard with 40 smart driving sensors, utilizing a "forward dual redundancy + all-direction 4 solid-state" six-LiDAR matrix. It debuts the Huawei Qiankun ADS 5.0 system and Omni-Defense Collision Avoidance System 5.0, with L3-level hardware redundancy pre-installed. The LiDARs are self-developed and supplied by Huawei, while the perception system covers functions including highway NOA, urban NOA, and door-to-door navigation.
Smart Cockpit: HarmonyOS Cockpit 4.0 and HUAWEI SOUND Audio
The cockpit is built on HarmonyOS Cockpit 4.0, featuring a unified triple-screen setup in the front row, along with a new dual-focal-plane AR-HUD and a 32-inch laser projection large screen—54% brighter than the previous generation. For audio, the standard version features the HUAWEI SOUND Premium series with 39 speaker units, while the Ultimate Prestige edition upgrades to 43 units. Deep integration with the HarmonyOS ecosystem ensures smoother connectivity between the vehicle system and devices like smartphones and tablets.

Chassis and Body: Xuanling Full Active Intelligent Chassis
The chassis employs Huawei's Xuanling full active intelligent chassis, featuring a front double-wishbone and rear five-link all-aluminum suspension design. It comes standard with a closed double-chamber air suspension and dual-valve CDC continuous variable damping shock absorbers. The entire lineup features ±8° rear-wheel steering, achieving an official turning radius of just 5.1 meters and supporting a maximum 8° crab-walking mode. The body utilizes integrated die-cast aluminum construction, with high-strength materials accounting for 91% of the structure. The drag coefficient is as low as 0.249 Cd—a low figure for a full-size SUV—while the official 0-100 km/h braking distance is 34.77 meters.
Supply Chain Observation: Huawei Full-Stack Self-Development and Leading Supplier Collaboration
The supply chain model for the new AITO M9 is highly concentrated. On the powertrain front, Huawei's Smart Engine 800V platform and electric drive systems are self-developed; batteries are exclusively supplied by CATL; and the range extender comes from Chongqing Xiaokang Power. In intelligent driving, the ADS 5.0 system, the six-LiDAR matrix, and driving chips are all Huawei self-developed. For the cockpit, HarmonyOS 4.0 and HUAWEI SOUND audio are provided by Huawei. On the chassis side, the Xuanling intelligent chassis is unified by Huawei's XMC digital chassis engine.
This means the AITO M9's core technology is heavily concentrated in Huawei. While this model boosts system integration efficiency, it also introduces risks associated with supply chain concentration. From an industry perspective, this shift not only reflects Huawei's evolution from a Tier 2 to a Tier 0.5 supplier role but also marks a structural divergence from models that rely on multi-source supply chains.
To break down the core product strengths of this flagship performance SUV, Gasgoo Automotive has systematically compiled the key component supplier information for the new AITO M9. We welcome industry peers to join the discussion and help us update this data further.
