Gasgoo Munich- Huayou Holding Group has appointed Lou Jianfeng as its new president, tasking him with overseeing daily operations and management across the group.

Chen Xuehua, chairman of Huayou Holding Group, hailed the appointment as a milestone for the company. Lou’s global perspective and management expertise, Chen said, will inject fresh momentum into the group’s integrated industrial layout and international operations.
In his inaugural address, Lou expressed strong confidence in Huayou’s strategy—anchored in energy materials, global resource allocation, and a complete industrial chain—which solidified his decision to join the group.
Lou outlined three key priorities: adopting an open mindset to fully grasp the group’s strategy and transition quickly into his new role; leveraging his experience in multinational governance, global R&D, and risk management to optimize the group’s global operations; and working under Chairman Chen’s leadership to execute strategy, boost efficiency, and integrate resources to consolidate Huayou’s industry leadership.
Lou Jianfeng is an industry veteran with deep technical roots. He holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Zhejiang University, an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and a Ph.D. in chemical engineering from MIT.
His career has moved in lockstep with the world’s chemical giants. After starting at Atofina (now Arkema) in 1998 to build his early international experience, he spent over two decades at BASF. There, he rose through the ranks to senior roles including Senior Vice President of Global Battery Materials, President of Global Advanced Materials & Systems Research, and Chairman and President of Greater China. That tenure gave him extensive experience in global management and strategic decision-making—expertise that aligns closely with the core business of Huayou Cobalt and provides a strong foundation for his new position.
