Gasgoo Munich- Leapmotor recently released official images and specifications for the updated B10 and B01.
It has been a little over a year since the current B10 launched, and exactly one year since the B01 hit the market. Yet Leapmotor is already rushing out a mid-cycle refresh for a series that has surpassed 200,000 sales. What is new?
To put it simply: they have added substance where it is visible, patched up what drew complaints, and bumped up range and charging speeds a notch.
Changes in the Refresh
First, the B01. Two exclusive paint options have been added: Cloud Purple and Liquid Silver. Color preferences are subjective, but having more choices is always a plus.
The cabin, however, is the focus. The B01 now features a 50-inch AR-HUD, while the central infotainment screen has been stretched to a 17.3-inch 3K HD display.
There is an 8.8-inch digital cluster, a Leap Sound 14-speaker audio system, and a driver-specific music headrest. Embedding speakers in the headrest ensures navigation audio reaches only the driver, leaving passengers undisturbed—a practical touch.

The B10’s upgrade is even more aggressive. It gets a 55-inch AR-HUD—5 inches larger than the B01’s. The front row features dual zero-gravity seats with suction ventilation, heating, memory welcome functions, one-touch zero-gravity mode, 10-point massage, 4-way leg rests, and 4-way lumbar support—reading that spec list is enough to make you pause for breath.
Add to that 256-color ambient lighting, a versatile front passenger seat, and a panoramic sunroof with an electric sunshade. The most striking feature is the massive 1.83-square-meter glass roof—looking up from the rear seats, it is essentially an all-glass ceiling.
Beyond the visible upgrades, there are fixes for details previously criticized by owners. The B10 finally adds a rear wiper. The fact that such a basic feature required a refresh suggests the initial launch was indeed rushed.
The versatile front passenger seat and the obstructive center console have been dropped in favor of more conventional designs. Rear reading lights have also been added. These changes are not exactly innovations, but they at least show Leapmotor is listening to its users.
Power and range have also improved. The B01’s motor output is 180 kW, while the B10 sits at 185 kW. The B10 offers a CLTC range of 610 km, and the B01 pushes that to 650 km.
Fast charging has been upgraded from 400V to 800V architecture, cutting the 30% to 80% charging time to just 16 minutes. The battery cell supplier remains unknown for now, and whether the suspension structure has changed will have to wait for the official launch announcement.
Overall, the strategy behind this refresh is clear: do not reinvent the wheel, just patch the weaknesses and double down on strengths. Exterior changes are minimal, but the interior and functional upgrades are substantial.
Why the Rush for the B-Series?
To understand the significance of this refresh, we first need to look at how the B-Series has been selling.
The B10 launched in April 2025. Sales topped 10,000 in May and surged to 14,300 units in June. The B01 followed in July, recording four straight months of sales over 10,000 units. By January 2026, Leapmotor announced cumulative B-Series sales had surpassed 160,000 units. That is not slow progress for a new automaker.
However, trouble emerged. In the following months, B-Series sales slipped, struggling to stay above the 10,000 mark. Leapmotor’s global deliveries hit 93,376 units in June, a 95% year-on-year surge, showing the company is still advancing. Yet the B-Series is clearly losing momentum.
This explains precisely why this refresh arrived so quickly.
Leapmotor’s product lineup is clearly defined: the A-Series under 100,000 yuan, the B-Series between 100,000 and 150,000 yuan, the C-Series from 150,000 to 200,000 yuan, and the D-Series around 300,000 yuan. Positioned in the largest segment, the B-Series is both a volume driver and a springboard for the brand’s move upmarket.
Cao Li, Leapmotor’s senior vice president, has stated that the B10 and B01 must create synergy through a dual-car strategy. The B-Series is defined as a global platform, with its design and technology tailored to overseas market demands.

However, a dual-car strategy relies on a prerequisite: both cars must be competitive. The B01 quickly topped 10,000 monthly sales after launch, earning a reputation as the year’s dark horse. But entering 2026, sales declined sharply. While there has been a recovery, it remains far from peak levels. The B10 faces a similar struggle, trailing significantly behind its peak.
Leapmotor recently secured the top spot among new automakers in June with over 93,000 deliveries, bringing first-half cumulative deliveries to more than 356,000 units. Yet in that scorecard, the C-Series is the undisputed leader.
If the B-Series remains sluggish, Leapmotor is effectively operating on one leg. Zhu Jiangming revealed in early July that the B-Series would be refreshed and relaunched that month. The mission for the updated B10 and B01 is clear: reclaim lost ground.
Judging by the specs, Leapmotor certainly invested heavily this time. A 50-inch AR-HUD, 17.3-inch central screen, dual zero-gravity seats, 800V fast charging, and 650 km range—these are not rare in cars priced above 150,000 yuan. But integrating them into the 100,000 to 150,000 yuan B-Series is a classic Leapmotor value proposition.
The problem is that the previous B-Series also rose due to heavy spec-sheet value, and sales still slipped once the novelty wore off. The duration of this boost will depend entirely on pricing.
Online speculation suggests the top-trim price is 129,800 yuan, with zero-gravity seats and 19-inch tires likely offered as a 5,000 yuan option package. If the final pricing is reasonable, the B-Series should not have trouble returning to monthly sales of 10,000 units in the short term.
However, in the long run, Leapmotor needs to solve more than just product capability. Sustaining appeal in the fiercely competitive 100,000 to 150,000 yuan price bracket is far more difficult than simply installing a few extra screens.
