By leveraging pre-training, simulation, and reinforcement learning, the model can outperform human drivers in rare, extreme scenarios.
World Model Pre-training: By predicting videos from vast amounts of real-world driving data, the system compresses physical common sense and causal relationships into a base model. This enables the system to develop a fundamental understanding of the physical world.
World Model Simulation: Generative models simulate the surrounding environment in a closed loop. This allows the system to predict how the world evolves in response to its own actions, enabling the evaluation and verification of extremely rare, long-tail scenarios. The process is more than 10,000 times more efficient than traditional real-world road testing.
Reinforcement Learning: By constructing a highly realistic virtual training ground and employing reward-penalty mechanisms, the large model is encouraged to explore and learn through trial and error. The result is a driving performance that is safer, more efficient, and smoother—mimicking human-like behavior.
