Gasgoo.com (Shanghai November 16) - Recent statistics from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers show that sales of Japanese vehicles in the country have continued to decline in October. Furthermore, a recent survey conducted by chinanews.com reveal that over 50 percent of Chinese netizens believe that Japanese automobile brand sales will not recover in the future.

The chinanews.com survey, which lasted two weeks, asked participants if they felt Japanese automobile manufacturers' market share in China will recover following massive declines over the past few months. Only 44.5 percent of the participants believe they will after Sino-Japanese tensions lessen, while the majority, 55.5 percent are more pessimistic.

Following inspections of several major Japanese manufacturers' dealership networks, UBS Securities Analyst Hou Yankun came to the conclusion that it will take at least two quarters for their sales to recover in the country. A high level Japanese manufacturer executive, who chose to remain anonymous, said that he believes it will take one to two years for sales to return to the levels seen earlier this year.

No Sino-Japanese joint ventures made the list of top ten performing passenger automobile manufacturer for October.
