RAV4 owners in China to slap Toyota with lawsuit

At least 100 owners of Toyota Motor Corp.'s RAV4 sport utility vehicles in China are preparing to file a lawsuit against the automaker, which has been rocked by massive global recalls, their lawyers said Friday.

A spokesperson at a Toyota unit here declined to comment on the potential lawsuit, which could be filed as early as this month.

But according to a Toyota source, "We have undertaken the recall based on Chinese law, so it would not be feasible to pay additional damages."
