Tianyuan Smart Driving T200 City NOA Released

Edited by Taylor From Gasgoo

Gasgoo Munich-eπ 007+ has received a major over-the-air update, officially launching the City Navigation on Autopilot (NOA) feature for its Tianyuan Smart Driving T200 system. This marks the industry’s first end-to-end, mapless solution powered by a domestic chip, bringing advanced driver-assist technology into the mainstream price range, Dongfeng Motor said.

The Tianyuan T200 operates without high-definition maps, relying instead on real-time perception, large AI models, and online mapping to make decisions. On the hardware front, the system runs on a Horizon Robotics J6M chip offering 128 TOPS of computing power and is equipped with a 100-line LiDAR. This setup covers a detection range of 1 to 200 meters with an accuracy of ±5 centimeters; forward detection matches that range and precision. Four surround-view cameras and twelve ultrasonic sensors positioned around the vehicle ensure 360-degree perception without blind spots.

Leveraging a joint prediction-planning model and multi-task learning, the system navigates complex road conditions such as cut-ins, obstructions, and pedestrians darting into traffic. Test data shows a straight-through success rate of over 99% at city intersections, with left and right turns exceeding 97%. The system covers most daily driving scenarios, including national and provincial highways. Key capabilities include pre-deceleration in blind spots, prompt starts when traffic lights turn green, and navigating around stopped vehicles.

The Tianyuan T200 offers a suite of specific driving capabilities: lane changes initiated by the turn signal stalk, navigation-guided lane changes, and overtaking maneuvers. It automatically identifies and proceeds through signalized intersections while actively judging and smoothly navigating unsignalized ones. The system also avoids static road infrastructure like guardrails and traffic cones, handles automatic entry and exit at roundabouts, and executes smooth U-turns.

Dongfeng plans to continuously optimize its perception algorithms and AI model training to drive performance improvements in its mapless, end-to-end solution. The Tianyuan T200 system will undergo further iterations as the technology evolves.
