The most upscale model of Shanghai Volkswagen is Passat. If Passat customers want to upgrade their cars, they may switch to other brands. Touareg is strategically the most suitable complementary models.
According to overseas media previously, it was said that a whole new generation Touareg would debut in 2015. The new car is based on Volkswagen MLB Evo platform, and two different wheelbase models may be introduced. The standard wheelbase is 2895mm and the longer wheelbase is 3020mm. The new model is equipped with resetting 3.0TSI engines, whose power and fuel consumption are both better than the performance of the current vehicle models.
According to the current product layout of Shanghai Volkswagen, domestic-made Touareg is expected to improve the product lines and reduce the loss of existing customers.
