The Administration of Quality Supervision and Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ) reported Thursday that Toyota Motor (China) Investment Co., Ltd. will recall several imported Lexus LX.
The recall in Chinese mainland will involve 1,123 cars manufactured from May 6, 2002 to August 8, 2007.
According to the report, the joint structure of the steering shaft was designed improperly, which may cause failure upon a tough hurdle.
The company did not reveal whether it will effectuate a recall in other countries as well.
The AQSIQ had reported on July 5 that Toyota (China) would recall 5791 units of imported Lexus LS series due to defects on valve springs of the engine.
