GM China marketing VP moves to GM Asia Pacific
Joseph Liu will be appointed as GM Asia Pacific marketing vice president as of November 1.
Shanghai, October 9 (Gasgoo.com) General Motors (GM) and its Chinese joint venture Shanghai GM today announced that Liu Yuehai (Joseph Liu), the former GM-China marketing vice president and Shanghai GM vice general manager, will be appointed as GM Asia Pacific marketing vice president as of November 1.
Liu Yuehai, the successor to the retiring Jim Raymond, will be responsible for GM's marketing in the Asia Pacific region. He will report directly to Mr. Nick Reilly, GM vice president and Asia Pacific president and will become a member of GM Asia Pacific strategic decision-making committee.
In 2000, Liu joined the GM Taiwan company as general manager. He then worked in GM-China from 2001, responsible for Shanghai GM and GM’s marketing in China and became Shanghai GM vice general manager from 2007. During his tenure, passenger vehicle sales of Shanghai GM topped all other joint ventures for China in three consecutive years
Meanwhile, Terry Johnsson, GM Middle East president and general manager, will become the Shanghai GM vice general manager from November 1 and report to Robert Socia, executive vice general manager of Shanghai GM. Terry Johnsson will be responsible for marketing of Shanghai GM and will become the member of Shanghai GM executive board.
