Shanghai, January 15 (Gasgoo.com) Chinese truck maker Baotou Bei Ben Heavy-Duty Truck Co., Ltd aims to sell 30,000 trucks in 2009 to bring its market share to 7.5% from the current 4.5%, said sina.com today.

The company sold more than 25,000 trucks in 2008. The achievements were scored against unfavorable factors such as financial crisis, auto market downturn and the credit squeeze. This year, the company will increase its investment in product development and capacity expansion to deliver more Bei Ben trucks to the market. Its market share may grow to 7.5% from the current 4.5%.

To fulfill the sales target of 30,000 units for this year, Bei Ben Heavy Truck will also expand its sales networks across the country and in the overseas markets. Currently the truck-maker has about 27 4S stores, with more than 300 dealers. The company will build at least 60 4S stores by the end of this year.

While getting more aggressive in the domestic market, Bei Ben is speeding up its pace to the overseas markets as well. Bei Ben heavy trucks have been exported to Middle East, Africa, Southeast Asia, and other areas.

In August 2008, Baotou Bei Ben Heavy-Duty Truck Co., Ltd became a fourth-level registered truck supplier for the United Nations.

Bei Ben Company is a heavy-duty truck division of China North Industries Group Corporation (CNGC), China's largest military equipment producer which also develops and manufactures hi-tech machinery for civilian purposes.
