Ferrari '08 China sales up 20% to 212 units

Shanghai, February 16 (Gasgoo.com) Chinese buyers purchased a record 212 Ferrari brand cars in 2008, up 20 percent from a year earlier, Italian supercar company Ferrari said in its annual sales report recently.

China was the fastest growing market for the brand in the Asia Pacific region. The U.S continues to be the largest market for the brand with 1007 cars sold last year, comprising 26% of Ferrari's total global sales.

Overall the company posted a 339 million euro ($437.7 million) profit for 2008, up 15.2% from 2007, and saw a vehicle sales increase of 2% globally at 6,587 cars during the same time as well.
