Audi of America unveils "Truth in 24" iPhone Game

HERNDON, Virginia — For those who can't get enough of the Truth in 24 documentary that recently premiered on ESPN, Audi of America has released a free racing game for the iPhone by the same name.

Players can try racing in practice mode before moving to the 10-minute endurance race that tests concentration and reflexes as you navigate around other vehicles on the tarmac. Drivers must also occasionally hit the pits to refuel and manually change tires by dragging each tire to its proper spot on the car.

Although the graphics are somewhat choppy and simple by video game standards, the game is still fun because it makes use of the iPhone's accelerometer by requiring you to tilt the phone like a steering wheel to turn. To go forward, you simply press a button on the right side of the phone, and stopping power is provided by a similar button on the left.

The game is available for the iPhone and iPod touch through the App Store, and the documentary can be downloaded for free from iTunes.

Inside Line says: Audi does a good job getting the racing dynamic down in this free game for the iPhone or iPod touch.
