Shanghai, May 6 (Gasgoo.com) April sales report released by major carmakers in China shows that the country's auto industry has walked out of the shadow of the global financial crisis thanks to government's timely stimulus packages, China Daily reported Wednesday.

Chongqing Changan Auto Co said in a filing to the Shenzhen Stock Exchange on Wednesday that its April sales jumped 51 percent from a year earlier to 117,846 vehicles.

General Motors said a day earlier that its vehicle sales in China soared 50 percent year on year in April to 151,084 units, a new monthly high.

"It is a clear signal that the domestic automobile market is back on track and will keep growing this year," Zhong Shi, an independent auto analyst told the newspaper, quoting timely stimulus measures and industry support plan from the government as the main boosters.

China's car sales in March climbed to a monthly record at 772,400 units, up 10.26 percent from a year earlier, and up 27.2 percent from February.

The China Association of Automobile Manufacturers is expected to release its official sales figures of April by next Monday.
