BYD Auto H1 sales up 176% to 176,795 cars

Shanghai, July 8 (Gasgoo.com) BYD Auto sold 176,795 vehicles in the first half of this year, a rapid increase of 176% from a year earlier, reported Shanghai Securities News, citing the carmaker's latest statistics.

The business newspaper said BYD Auto has also revealed its sales volume of June, in which its electric plug-in hybrid F3DM sold 19 units.

BYD Auto is pushing ahead with the commercialization of its electric vehicles. The 300,000-yuan ($43,900) E6 model is awaiting regulatory approval for going on sale by the end of this year, and meanwhile the F3DM, now on its national promotional tour, will sell to individual customers starting September.

The DM (dual-mode) vehicle models of BYD Auto have been approved by the government for mass production and will be sold first in 13 major cities across China. Currently, BYD's auto investment is mainly in mainland China and its annual production capacity has reached 800,000 cars.

In the second half this year, BYD will launch five all-new models, which are the S8, G3, L3, S6 and M6.
