Shanghai, August 20 (Gasgoo.com) Honeywell signed two memorandums of understanding (MOU) on Wednesday with ChangAn Automobile and Chongqing municipal government on energy efficiency and environmental protection, Honeywell said in a news release.

In the first MOU Honeywell agreed with ChangAn Automobile to jointly develop micro-turbochargers. Honeywell said this agreement underscores Honeywell's effort to support the China government's call for engine downsizing and more fuel efficient and environmentally-friendlier engines.

Honeywell also signed an Environment Protection Project Agreement with the Chongqing Chemical Industry Park (CCIP). This project is to utilize Honeywell WEBs online monitoring to remotely monitor pollution.

The MOUs were signed during Chongqing City Mayor Wang Hongju's visit to Honeywell's Washington D.C. office. In addition to signing the two MOUs, the Chonqing delegation also visited the Honeywell Technology Experience, where they had a hands-on look at the company's energy efficiency, safety, security, transportation, controls and materials portfolio.

Honeywell is one of the Fortune 500 Enterprises, with an annual turnover of $37 billion. Its investment in China has exceeded $600 million, with 7,000-plus employees.
